We decided to have my parents and my husband's parents over for dinner this Halloween, since it was Little Man's first. LM's Mimi got him an adorable tiger costume from the thrift shop for $5. Woop, woop! I love a good deal. I patched my "witch costume" together from shoes and tights that I found on Amazon, and a dress from Sheinside.com. Overall, it couldn't have cost more than $60, which is pretty good considering that I can re-wear the shoes and dress.
I also made two rustic witch brooms out of a large branch with smaller twigs for the bristles all tied together with twine. If you already have twine hanging around, it should cost nothing to make. I found some cute pumpkin stencils free online, my favorite being the candle stencil from Marthastewart.com.
For the menu, I made a roast chicken with parsnips and carrots, crockpot candied sweet potatoes, peas, green bean casserole (a classic), crescent rolls, and an amazing batch of these vegan pumpkin pie brownies from Post Punk Kitchen.
